Drug discovery is a design problem. Chemists spend hours each week combining experimental data with their own intuition to design molecules that they believe will be potent against a biological target, absorb well into the body, and be non-toxic. This effort takes years to succeed and costs millions of dollars – all while patients’ needs for new therapeutics go unmet. At Inductive Bio, we believe better tools can dramatically improve how molecules are designed. We're building a Figma-like platform for drug discovery teams, backed by state-of-the-art AI, to make the design of new therapeutics faster, more collaborative, and more effective. Our platform is already being used on dozens of small molecule drug discovery programs, and adoption is rapidly growing. We are backed by leading investors at the intersection of technology and biotechnology, and our team includes world-class AI, software, and drug discovery experts. We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to join our talented, ambitious, and kind team. You’ll work directly with our scientific users to deeply understand their workflows and design beautiful, intuitive experiences that empower them to design better drugs faster. As the first design hire at a rapidly-growing startup, you’ll have the opportunity for high impact, taking features from discovery through to launch – helping to shape the product, brand, and future of Inductive Bio.What you’ll do:Design user experiences end-to-end, from early user research and wireframes to polished high-fidelity mockups and design specsDeeply understand the workflows, needs, and pain points of chemists, biologists, and other scientific usersCollaborate directly with users, joining customer conversations and conducting interviews to uncover opportunities and validate designsPrototype new ideas using tools like Figma or lightweight front-end code, sometimes using AI-assisted design and prototyping tools to accelerate iterationWork closely with engineering to ensure that designs are implementable, pragmatic, and deliver real value — balancing craft with speedSolve complex UI/UX challenges — visualizing complex scientific data, designing for collaboration, and simplifying highly technical workflows into intuitive experiencesBuild and maintain design systems that ensure consistency, usability, and maintainability across the platformContribute to product strategy and decisions, working closely with founders, engineers, and scientific advisors to shape our roadmapAssist with graphic design throughout the company, including sales, marketing, and brandingMove fast, make tradeoffs thoughtfully, and focus on delivering user value quicklyWho you are:4+ years of experience designing complex, interactive web applications.
